TCS NQT
Preparation Guide
Realistic plan to crack Ninja (₹3.36 LPA), Digital (₹7 LPA) or Prime (₹9–11.5 LPA) in one sitting
Pune-based tips that worked in 2025–2026 drives
TCS NQT 2026 is brutal — one test, one chance. Foundation filters you out completely if weak, Advanced decides your package. I’ve seen Pune friends lose Digital by just 2–3 quant marks or one edge-case bug in coding.
This guide is the exact no-BS plan we followed — what still works in early 2026 shifts. Let’s break it down phase by phase.
Phase 1: Master Foundation (The Ninja Filter – 75 Mins)
75 mins total (25 each). Percentile here (usually 70–80+) decides if you even qualify for higher roles.
Numerical Ability
High-priority: Number Systems, HCF/LCM, Percentages, Time & Work, Ratios, Profit/Loss.
Trap: Fill-Up-the-Box (no options) — one decimal mistake = 0 marks. Practice typing accurate answers fast.
Verbal Ability
Reading Comprehension (2–3 passages), Error Spotting, Fill in Blanks.
Strategy: Max 45 sec per blank. Save 8–10 mins for long passages at the end.
Reasoning Ability
Syllogisms, Blood Relations, Seating Arrangements, Visual (paper folding, cubes).
2026 loves complex seating + visual puzzles. Draw quick diagrams to save time.
Tip: Target 80–85% accuracy. Even 18/25 per section keeps Digital/Prime alive.
Phase 2: Advanced Section (Unlocks Digital/Prime – 115 Mins)
Advanced Quant & Reasoning (25 mins)
Geometry, DI (Pie/Bar/Tabular), Stats, Probability, Permutations.
Many mix concepts (Probability + Ratios, DI + Percentages). Practice hybrids.
Advanced Coding (90 mins – 2 Questions)
Q1 Medium: Arrays, Strings, Math (rotate array, palindromes, primes, GCD, Armstrong).
Q2 Hard: Stacks/Queues, Trees, basic DP, Graph basics.
2026 realities: Strict compiler, N=10^5 needs O(n), edge cases kill (empty, negatives, max size). No auto-complete — practice plain editor.
4-Week Realistic Study Plan
Week 1
Aptitude Basics
Master Percentages, Ratios, Number Systems. Speed focus.
Week 2
Verbal + Advanced Quant
RC daily, Geometry/DI/Probability hybrids.
Week 3
Coding Fundamentals
20+ Arrays/Strings daily. O(n) focus.
Week 4
Mock Drills
4–5 full 190-min timed mocks. No backtracking practice.
Exam Day Rules You Can’t Break (2026 Proctoring Is Strict)
- No going back — submit or timer ends, question is locked forever
- AI watches eyes/head — no looking down long or away from screen (use on-screen notepad only)
- No tab/window switch — instant disqualification
- Phone silent & away from desk
Technical Interview Prep (After Clearing NQT)
For Digital/Prime: Explain your best project deeply (architecture, optimizations, challenges).
- OOPS: Abstract vs Interface, final/finally/finalize, overloading vs overriding
- DBMS: All joins, Normalization (1NF–3NF), Indexing (B-tree), ACID
- DSA: Dry-run code on paper/whiteboard (reverse list, cycle detection, merge sort)
Be ready for live coding or verbal logic explanation.
Ready to Start Your TCS NQT 2026 Prep?
Begin with aptitude today — it’s the silent killer. Code evenings, mocks on weekends. You’ve got 4–6 weeks — use them smartly.
Which part scares you most — quant, coding, or interview? Drop a comment — I’ll share targeted mocks or resources!
