Job Description

KPMG is seeking a talented Python Developer to join their engineering team and contribute to the development and maintenance of software products and applications. Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain Applications: Write effective, reusable, and scalable Python code to develop and maintain robust software applications and back-end components. This includes designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality code that meets business requirements and technical specifications.
• Integration: Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic and connect applications with third-party web services and data storage solutions. This involves working with APIs, databases, and various integration technologies to ensure seamless data flow and functionality.
• Testing and Debugging: Test, debug, and troubleshoot applications to ensure high performance, responsiveness, and reliability. This includes writing unit tests, performing integration testing, and resolving issues in development, testing, and production environments.
• Improve Functionality: Improve the functionality of existing systems and implement security and data protection solutions. This involves analyzing current systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing enhancements to optimize performance and security.
• Collaboration: Coordinate with internal cross-functional teams (front-end developers, data scientists, DevOps engineers, stakeholders) to understand user requirements and provide technical solutions. This requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Documentation: Create detailed documentation of code, technical specifications, and system configurations to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing. This includes writing clear, comprehensive documentation that helps other developers understand and maintain the codebase.
• Code Reviews: Participate in code and design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to ensure high code quality and adherence to best practices. This involves reviewing other developers’ code, suggesting improvements, and incorporating feedback into your own work.

Eligibility Criteria & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). This provides the foundational knowledge necessary for software development and problem-solving.
• Experience: Proven work experience as a Python Developer or in a similar software development role. While freshers are welcome, any prior experience with Python development will be advantageous.
• Python Proficiency: Strong knowledge of the Python programming language and its libraries and frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask). This includes understanding Python syntax, data structures, algorithms, and common design patterns.
• Databases: Experience with database systems, both SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB), and knowledge of Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) libraries. This includes understanding database design, query optimization, and data modeling.
• APIs: Hands-on experience with designing and developing RESTful APIs, JSON, and web services. This includes understanding API design principles, authentication mechanisms, and data serialization formats.
• Version Control: Familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git. This includes understanding branching strategies, merge conflicts, and collaborative development workflows.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. This includes understanding cloud architecture, deployment strategies, and managed services.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This helps in better collaboration with front-end developers and understanding the full-stack development process.
• Knowledge of data science or machine learning libraries like Pandas, NumPy, or Scikit-learn. This is valuable for projects involving data analysis and machine learning integration.
• Exposure to containerization technologies like Docker and CI/CD pipelines. This includes understanding container orchestration, automated testing, and continuous deployment practices.
